Brisbane's La Boite Theatre is thrilled to announce Artistic Director David Berthold’s acclaimed original production of Tommy Murphy’s award-winning Holding The Man will transfer to London’s West End in April, starring Kath and Kim’s Jane Turner.
Tommy Murphy’s stage adaptation of the best-selling memoir by Conigrave premiered in 2006 at the Griffin Theatre in Sydney, and played sell-out seasons there and at the Sydney Opera House, Company B Belvoir, Melbourne Theatre Company and Brisbane Powerhouse.
"This is one of Australia’s great love stories, and it’s exciting for us all that London audiences will get to share in it," says David Berthold.
"It will be quite exciting for me to direct the show again with a mix of Australian and British actors, including of course the wonderful Jane Turner. It’s hard to believe that this will be the show’s seventh season. It’s a tribute to an amazing story."
Holding The Man produced by Daniel Sparrow (All About My Mother) and Mike Walsh OBE, will have a limited season from 23 April to 3 July 2010 at Trafalgar Studios 1.
